Lebanese restaurant in London

The "Comptoir Libanais" in London, England, is a vibrant restaurant that brings the flavors and culture of Lebanon and the Middle East to the British capital. It is part of a successful chain founded by Tony Kitous, a man who has turned his childhood dreams of Lebanese cuisine into reality. The restaurant in South Kensington reflects this passion and offers a colorful, inviting atmosphere reminiscent of the markets and cafés of Beirut. The decor is striking and stylish, featuring colorful tiles, cozy seating, and an open kitchen that gives guests a glimpse of the food preparation. It is a place suitable for both a quick lunch and a relaxed dinner with friends or family.

Authentic Lebanese cuisine experience

The cuisine at Comptoir Libanais focuses on fresh, healthy, and authentic Lebanese dishes, often meant for sharing. A highlight is the "Hummus," a creamy chickpea paste served with warm flatbread, renowned for its velvety texture and hint of tahini. Equally popular are the "Falafel," crispy chickpea balls offered with a spicy sauce and fresh salad – a classic that showcases the versatility of plant-based cuisine. For meat lovers, the "Mixed Grill" stands out, featuring a selection of marinated chicken, lamb, and beef skewers grilled over an open flame, delivering an intense, smoky flavor. The dishes are accompanied by sides like "Comptoir Salad" or aromatic "Vermicelli Rice," which perfectly complement the main courses.

Vibrant atmosphere at Comptoir Libanais

Desserts and beverages are also an important part of the experience. The "Baklawa," traditional Lebanese pastries filled with nuts and syrup, provide a sweet, sticky temptation that delights the palate. The drink menu features homemade lemonades like the "Rose Lemonade," which, with its floral notes and freshness, makes for a refreshing accompaniment. Additionally, there is a selection of Lebanese wines and cocktails that enhance the flavors of the dishes. The restaurant places great emphasis on variety, with numerous vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options that are just as flavorful and carefully prepared as the meat-based dishes.

The service at Comptoir Libanais is friendly and efficient, with staff often praised for their warm demeanor and helpfulness. The open kitchen creates a connection between guests and chefs, fostering trust in the freshness and quality of the ingredients. The restaurant operates on a flexible concept, accommodating both reservations and spontaneous visits, though it can get crowded on busy evenings or during peak times. The atmosphere is lively but not overwhelming, and the colorful decor along with oriental sounds contribute to an authentic feeling that transports guests to another world.

Dishes are very poor, good for vegetarians. The amount of meat is maybe 150 gram maximum. The taste is neutral not Middle East taste. Maybe good for British people. Humus is also not very tasteful. Suggestion take some courses for Lebanese cooking. My expectation was much more I am sorry. The service was very good, also the quality of the menu and atmosphere is very good. But the finish could be much better.

Comida deliciosa, preparo rapido, pedi o mezze platter para duas pessoas e foi bem servido. Uma ótima pedida para quem quer comer antes de ir ao museu de história natural.

Lovely staff and nice atmosphere, but the food isn't anything special, and the servings are some of the most selfish that I've seen in any restaurant. Not value for money.

Despite really tasty food, It was quite busy and we sat almost touching the neighbor table's people -tables were squeezed. Service was slow... We had lamb burger and lamb tagine, as well some snacks.

Obsługa bardzo miła. Jedzenie jednak nie jest smaczne. Jest też głośno i gwarno. Ponownie bym tam się nie wybrał. Ceny też są bardzo wysokie.
